Nr.659 von 1000 Ex.- This 2011 Hayward Touring project was curated by the founder of Slimvolume, Andrew Hunt, for The Focal Point Gallery in Southend-on-Sea. 78 artists from a multitude of artistic disciplines and mediums were asked to create a card for a contemporary tarot pack, printed as a numbered edition of 1,000. Each artist drew a card randomly and had to reinterpret the theme in their own way. The decks of cards were then given away to recipients nominated by the artists. The initial exhibition consisted of the 78 artworks, all produced and framed to the same near-A3 format, accompanied by explanatory captions and an example of the Tarot of Marseille pack.
