?Bilderraum! Pictures – Books – Time

The project

?Bilderraum.ch! is a project of the antiquarian bookshop peter petrej – framed by a question mark and an exclamation mark. And why?
The space is supposed to offer a new cultural opportunity in the «Kreis 6» of Zurich - which, so I hope, will also be used. Various things are conceivable:

Do you want
... exhibit your pictures?
... present your novel?
... organize a reading group?
... present or sell your collection?
... listen to people talk about their lives?
... etc.?

?Bilderraum.ch! should be a place for encounters – for real encounters instead of just virtual ones ...

I was inspired not least by my fascination for the German soap opera "Lindenstrasse", which has been broadcast since 1985 and now counts over 1700 episodes. In my opinion, the success of the series is based on human curiosity, as we all want to know how life works. And to learn from it, and from how that of the others with their passions runs and has run.

?Bilderraum.ch! wants to offer a platform to get to know the real neighbour and the unknown person or to report of oneself to a small circle, of one's productions and inclinations. Anyone can get in touch, anyone can rent the space for her or his requirements...

The concept is not clearly defined – it will be what emerges. And maybe it will fail ...

The first exhibition:
Galerie Kern will be a guest from October 1st to December 2019 31st. During three months, works by the photographers E.L.C.Y and Yukiko Sugiyama will be shown in two exhibitions.
The first vernissage will take place on 4 October at 19.00 hrs. The second exhibition will open in mid-November with its own vernissage.

In their works, both artists treat current themes with carefully arranged, highly aesthetic photographs. While Yukiko Sugiyama focuses on the natural cycle of objects and resources, E.L.C.Y focuses on the role of women in society and image.

On the homepage www.galeriekern.ch current works and further information on the artists and the gallery can be found.
