Aaron Martinet (1762 - 1841), Print publisher in Paris, son of François Nicolas, with whom he worked on his botanical publications; married Madeleine Meirieu June 1792. Nothing known of next years. In 1796 established firm, which became famous for its caricatures of which the window display was changed every fortnight (see the Bergeret lithograph, 'Les Musards de la rue du Coq'). By the restoration had also opened a reading room, and co-published various guide books and pamphlets on the arts. From 1822 Hautecoeur-Martinet. Retired in 1824, and succeeded by his son-in-law Hermenégilde Hautecoeur (who had married his only surviving daughter Suzanne-Flore). Later publications are entered here under Martinet-Hautecoeur (rather than Hautecoeur-Martinet which is often found in the lettering).
