Umfangreiche, wissenschaftliche Kataloge dieses bedeutenden Museums fro allem zum antiken China. - Das Östasiatiska museet, Ostasiatische Museum, liegt auf der Insel Skeppsholmen in Stockholm und hat einige der umfassendsten Sammlungen in Europa von Kulturgegenständen aus China, Japan, Indien und anderen Teilen Asiens. Die Sammlungen umfassen heute fast 100.000 Objekte. Der Schwerpunkt liegt auf der Archäologie und der Kunst aus China. Durch Zukäufe und großzügige Spenden hat das Museum auch seine Sammlungen aus Korea, Japan, Indien und Südostasien erweitern können. Außerdem hat es auch eine große ostasiatische Bibliothek, die auch Bücherbestände der Königlichen Bibliothek und der Universitätsbibliothek umfasst.Die Geschichte des Museums beginnt 1926, als das "Museum of Far Eastern Antiquities" (schwed. Östasiatiska Samlingarna) in Stockholm als staatliches Museum eingerichtet wurde. Den Kern bildeten damals archäologische Sammlungen aus China, die von Johan Gunnar Andersson nach Schweden gebracht wurden. / Text in english, comprehensive work from this important Museum more or less about the ancien ChinaThe Museum of Far Eastern Antiquities (Östasiatiska Museet), Stockholm, Sweden Is a public museum launched by Sweden's Parliament in 1926, with the Swedish archaeologist Johan Gunnar Andersson (1874–1960) as founding director. The museum was originally based mainly on Andersson's groundbreaking discoveries in China, during the 1920s, of a hitherto unknown East Asian prehistory. The museum today has wide-ranging collections and exhibits of Asian archeology, classical arts, and culture, and a large Asia research library open to the public. The last time the museum published a comprehensive catalog was 1963 (Museum of Far Eastern Antiquities: Album). The museum also publishes an annual journal focused on research on ancient East Asia, the Bulletin of the Museum of Far Eastern Antiquities.
